Do you have an interest in advocacy, but have never been able to be a part of the annual DO Day on the Hill event? If so, we are happy to announce that this year DO Day on Capitol Hill has moved to a virtual platform. Whether you are an experienced advocate, or someone who is new to this but have always been interested in getting more involved, this year’s conference will provide a day of learning skills for speaking to members of government about issues important to the osteopathic pediatrician community.
The weekend will culminate with scheduled meetings with congressional leaders from your respective districts and their teams to discuss issues important to you and the profession. This is a great opportunity to gain firsthand experience with serving as an advocate and to being able to build on a very important skill as a voice for the profession and for pediatric patients.
For this year’s conference, the workshops will be held Sunday, March 7, and the virtual meetings on Capitol Hill will take place Monday, March 8. Keynote speakers include Susan Dentzer, Senior Policy Fellow at the Robert J. Margolis Center for Health Policy at Duke University, and Steve Pemberton, Chief Human Resources Officer and Workhuman and author of A Chance in the World.
