Neil Nickelson, DO, FAAP, FACOP
The Career Achievement Award is given to pediatricians that have made either outstanding contributions in service to ACOP or to the osteopathic pediatrician profession or who have made major accomplishments in their careers. This year, ACOP is proud to have chosen Dr. Nickelson as the recipient of the Career Achievement Award.
Dr. Nickelson is a proud osteopath and has served in a multitude of osteopathic organizations throughout his career. As an ACOP member, he was the Program Director for the annual conference in Denver, Colorado. Additionally, Dr. Nickelson served as Chairman of the Board of Osteopathic Institute of the South, establishing medical student rotations. His role in this organization was fundamental in the opening of the PCOM campus in Georgia.

2021 Harold H. Finkel, DO and Arnold Melnick, DO Community Pediatrician of the Year
Daniel Taylor, DO, FACOP
The Harold H. Finkel, DO and Arnold Melnick, DO Community Pediatrician of the Year is awarded to pediatricians who have exemplified the values of Dr. Harold H. Finkel. Dr. Finkel served as a community pediatrician for over 50 years and was well regarded by his patients, students, residents, and fellow pediatricians. In 2013, the name of Dr. Arnold Melnick was added to the award with the permission of Dr. Finkel’s family. Dr. Melnick was a close friend of Dr. Finkel. Both were past Presidents of ACOP.
This award is to honor those that are leaders in their community in addressing the healthcare needs of children. This year ACOP is honoring Dr. Daniel Taylor. He has been a general pediatrician for the past 19 years at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Dr. Taylor has been a local and national voice on issues affecting vulnerable populations, focusing on issues that affect children living in poverty and violence.
