I would like to welcome you to the Rocky Mountains and specifically to Colorado Springs. As a life-long fan of the Rockies (the mountains, not the ball team), I can tell you this part of the country is magical. Sitting on the front range, the Springs offers views of the mountains and the plains. You can find hiking, treacherous driving, a world-class zoo and amazing architecture. There are spas and music, birds and trees. I invite you to walk through the grounds at The Broadmoor and soak in everything that this place has to offer.
While you are here, we have an amazing array of great topics to explore. From allergy and immunology to telemedicine, I know you will find great subjects into which to delve. We have a pair of wilderness lectures to go with our setting. We also have a pair of nutrition lectures that hopefully sit well with the amazing food you can find here in Colorado Springs.
We also have a series of lectures on mental health and adverse childhood events. I am very much looking forward to our OMT lectures and workshop, of course, but more so because they are tied into the mental health menu during this Spring Conference. We have also included lectures on other rough times during childhood; chronic pain and palliative care.
Complementing our proximity with the Air Force Academy, we will hear from a military physician for two topics focused on care for military families.
We anticipate that the main program will be approved for a total of 18.25 AOA 1A CME credits with an additional CME credits for the optional programming (Allergy/Immunology Session = 4 CME credits; OMT Workshop = 3 CME credits).
There will also be exhibitors, a moderated poster session and committee meetings for all who are interested. You will definitely not want to miss the 2020 James M Watson Memorial Lecture given by ACOP Past President Margaret A. Orcutt-Tuddenham, DO, FACOP.
ACOP proudly invites residents, interns, and students to attend and meet up with their future colleagues, submit an abstract/poster and take advantage of the great pediatric program.
I look forward to seeing everyone at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and hope you have a fantastic time seeing old friends and making new ones!
