Phoenix Blooming CactusWhat can be better than Arizona in April!? Join ACOP in sunny Phoenix for top-notch pediatric education, friends and fun! The agenda is jam packed with unique topics, general pediatric updates and care of the pediatric patient at home, on the field and in the community.

The conference will start on April 14 with a pre-conference allergy block in the afternoon. The topics include asthma and allergy prevention, drugs and additives, urticaria and venom allergy. These topics are presented by leaders in the field and are appropriate for the pediatric allergist and general pediatrician alike.

On Friday the program kicks off with pediatric neurology and the top ten hazards for pediatric patients addressed by poison control. The afternoon session includes non-pharmacological pain management and care for families of children with chronic disease.

Saturday morning begins with a wellness activity and continues with discussions focusing on athletic injuries, outdoor activities and sports supplements. The afternoon program includes the James M. Watson lecture by John Milionis, DO, author of Happiness, The Joy of Living. A moderated poster session and a splinting workshop will complete the day.

Pediatric nutrition, a vaccine update, dealing with parental refusals, a board review session and patient advocacy at school and in the community wraps up the conference on Sunday morning.

Osteopathic manipulation will be integrated with specific topics such as headache, pain relief and sports injuries. The techniques will be easily incorporated into the pediatric office visit and information regarding documentation and coding will also be provided.
