ACOP 2024 Spring Conference
April 25 - 28, 2024

Welcome

Greetings!

I want to welcome you all to our Spring 2024 conference in Metro Denver! We have a lot in store for this conference and we are excited for you to come and learn from our speakers and connect with friends.

In keeping with President Goldstein’s theme of “Bringing Osteopathy Back”, our Thursday is dedicated to OMM. Dr. Comer will be presenting sports medicine and OMT including concussions and overuse injuries. Then we are partnering with the American Academy of Pediatric Osteopathy (AAPO) to offer a session on OMM for the Busy Pediatrician.

We are switching gears on Friday starting with hospital medicine topics. Our first two lectures will focus on lessons learned from respiratory season and what’s new in the hospital. Rounding out our morning will be allergy and immunology topics. We return in the afternoon with a lecture on Syphilis, then head back to hospital care for a newborn nursery update. The hospital lectures are a great opportunity to brush up for those of us that don’t do hospital medicine. We are ending the day's program with sleep medicine lectures focusing on sleep studies and the use of melatonin in our population. Be sure to join us for the evening reception before heading off to dinner.

Saturday morning, I am really looking forward to our lectures on rheumatology. We are always asked for rheumatology lectures. This will allow us a chance to get a nice general overview. Before lunch we have our moderated poster session and the annual James M. Watson Memorial Lecture.  We will then move to the Business & Awards luncheon - all are welcome to attend the luncheon which will be another great time to catch up with friends and learn about what the College is doing to support our patients and our members. The rest of the afternoon is open for you to explore the area at your leisure.

After breakfast on Sunday morning we will dive into endocrinology with a lecture on Type 2 Diabetes and another on weight-loss surgery. Rounding out the morning and our conference will be two lectures on emergency medicine.

Something new for this conference will be on-demand lectures. We hope to have a series of about 5-6 lectures, each 30 minutes, that can be watched at your leisure. These lectures will provide additional CME credit and allow you to explore different topics. We are working on these lectures to give everyone a nice variety of topics from which to pick.

Our Student Trustees have also been busy building a wonderful program tailored to student interests. Of course, we hope to see our future pediatricians join us throughout the conference.

I am very much looking forward to seeing all of you at the Omni Interlocken Hotel. It will be a great conference!
