Louisville, Kentucky - home to the Kentucky Derby, Louisville Slugger, hometown of Muhammad Ali, and the location for another fabulous ACOP Spring Conference, April 27-30, 2023! We look forward to seeing old friends and colleagues and meeting new folks. Please extend an invitation to your students and residents as well! For those still uncomfortable with attending in-person, please register virtually and join our conference from the comfort of your home or office.
The conference starts on Thursday afternoon with a great session addressing Special Care for Children with lectures and hands-on OMT on Contractures and Neonatal Palliative Care. With only one session that afternoon, you will have time in the evening to indulge in a wonderful meal. Louisville has some amazing restaurants – many are just blocks from the hotel.
Our program continues Friday morning starting with a session on Caring for Mom and Baby where you will hear from an obstetrician-gynecologist about postpartum depression and the long-term issues associated with maternal drug abuse. Following a break with exhibitors, there will be an Adolescent Medicine session covering birth control failures, as well as sports participation concerns for LGBTQIA teens.
After you have had time to grab some lunch, we will kick off Friday afternoon with Pediatric Potpourri with lectures on anxiety, social media dangers, and the sensory sensitive practice.
We will close out the day with a fun, Kentucky Derby themed reception with our exhibitors. Bring your big hats and bowties, sip some bourbon and visit with the exhibitors!
Saturday morning starts with a wellness activity to get you moving. Grab some breakfast and join the first session of the morning on pediatric cancer. The session will feature lectures on pediatric eye cancers and proton therapy treatments. Morning activities will also include a poster session, more time with our exhibitors and the always informative and reflective James Watson lecture.
All attendees are encouraged to attend the Business Lunch & Awards on Saturday. ACOP leaders will share highlights from the past year and plans for the future. Awards for the Pediatrician of the Year, Career Achievement, and Best Posters will be presented to worthy recipients. Following lunch on Saturday afternoon, a session on feeding/digestion issues will be offered. There will be lectures and hands-on OMT for breastfeeding/difficult feeding issues and for abdominal pain.
The conference wraps up on Sunday morning with sessions on telemedicine, pediatric nephrology, and allergy and immunology. Be sure to stick around for these important topics.
We hope to see many trainees and students at the conference. They are the future of the ACOP! There are many osteopathic medical schools within driving distance of Louisville, as well pediatric residency programs. Trainees and students make for a lively, well-balanced conference!
We look forward to seeing you all in Louisville! And don’t forget to pack your bowties and fancy hats!
All Program & Schedule Times are Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
