  Dr. Lee Ann Conard was born and raised in Troy, Ohio. She attended Sweet Briar College in Virginia, and graduated from Ohio Northern University with a degree in pharmacy. She went on to attain her degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Dr. Conard completed her pediatric residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH, and a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from UNC at Chapel Hill. Dr. Conard has been treating transgender adolescents since 2005 as an attending physician at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She has held her current position at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital since 2012. Her passion and compassion for these patients and their families led her to establish and direct the CCHMC Living With Change Center for Transgender Health. The clinic, part of the Division of Adolescent Medicine, currently serves over 2000 patients from all over the midwest. When she has down time, Dr. Conard enjoys quilting and geocaching with friends.

  Meagan DelBaggio Fernandez, DO, FAOAO, FAAOS is a board-certified and fellowship trained Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon with a subspecialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Fernandez graduated from The University of Pittsburgh where she played Division I basketball and was a Bell Atlantic scholar athlete. She received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at UPMC Pinnacle Health System. Dr Fernandez joined Geisinger’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2011 after completing her fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at the prestigious Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. She currently serves at the Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery as well as the Medical Director of pediatric Ambulatory Surgery for the Geisinger system. Her clinical interests include pediatric sports medicine, scoliosis, trauma and general pediatric orthopaedics.

She completed a pediatric residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Rowan University, Dr. Diaz was employed at Nemours/A. I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware for 23 years. She was a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine working as an urgent care physician (10 ½ years) and primary care 12 ½ years. She is currently President of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP) Board of Trustees. He went on to medical school at Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Blacksburg, Va., before completing his Family Medicine residency at Spartanburg Regional in Spartanburg, S.C. He went on to Virginia Tech where he completed his VCOM Sports Medicine Fellowship serving the Hokies for the 2015-2016 athletic year. He then joined VCOM as an Associate Professor of Sports Medicine, Family Medicine and OMM at the Auburn campus. She then served in a dual role at Johns Hopkins University as a pediatric dermatology fellow and dermatology instructor. Following this experience, she joined a private practice, then left private practice to pursue her interest in academic dermatology. Currently, Dr. Heath is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Director of Pediatric Dermatology at Temple University. Dr. Heath is a nationally recognized speaker and holds a variety of leadership roles including being the National Secretary - Treasurer for the Skin of Color Society (SOCS), Temple University’s Committee on the status on Faculty of Color, Lewis Katz School of Medicine (Temple) Status of Women Faculty Committee, AAD Diversity Committee, co-leader of the pediatric dermatology sub-group of the AAD skin of color curriculum sub-taskforce and Dr. Heath is one of the inaugural members of the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance Skin of Color Group. He then completed his pediatrics residency at the former Miami Children's now Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, Florida before trading the sand for the snow to complete his fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He is now an assistant professor of pediatrics in the division of Neonatology at The Ohio State University and is a practicing neonatologist and the associate medical director of the medical/surgical NICU at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH. His research has focused on health equity particularly among LGBTQ parents.   Dr. Jensen is the Board Chair of the REACH Institute, a 501(c)(3) non-profit he founded in 2006. From 1999-2009 he served at the National Institute of Mental Health as the Associate Director for Child & Adolescent Mental Health Research. He then moved to Columbia University to assume an endowed professorship in the Department of Psychiatry, where he directed the Center for the Advancement of Children’s Mental Health. Leaving New York in 2009 he joined Mayo Clinic’s Department of Psychiatry & Psychology to lead the Division of Child Psychiatry & Psychology, eventually becoming the Vice-Chair of the Department (Research). In 2014 he was appointed Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, moving to Adjunct Professor in 2018. The author of over 300 peer-reviewed articles, Dr. Jensen was the lead NIMH investigator on the Multimodal Treatment of ADHD study (MTA) and served on other multi-site NIMH national studies. He has held multiple national offices and has received numerous awards for his research and teaching, and has co-authored key papers on the diagnosis and treatment of adolescent depression in primary care.

  Kevin Klauer, DO, EJD, FACEP, serves as the CEO of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), representing more than 168,000 osteopathic physicians (DOs) and medical students throughout the U.S. In this position, Dr. Klauer leads strategy, operations, organizational growth and advocacy for the osteopathic profession. He partners with the Board of Trustees, affiliated associations and staff to advance the AOA’s strategic vision and execute its programs. Dr. Klauer previously served as chief medical officer for hospital-based services, chief risk officer and executive director of the patient safety organization at TeamHealth, a leading clinician services organization. He also served as a clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. Prior to his arrival at TeamHealth in January 2015, Dr. Klauer spent 15 years with Emergency Medicine Physicians, Ltd. (EMP), serving in many capacities. He was also a member of the board of directors for Physicians Specialty Limited Risk Retention Group and the EMP Medical Group board of directors. Outside of full-time professional work, Dr. Klauer is involved in and has been recognized by numerous health care organizations. He was honored by the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians with the 2018 Outstanding Educator of the Year award. Dr. Klauer was elected to the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) board of directors in October 2016 and he previously served as ACEP Council Speaker. Dr. Klauer also serves as the medical editor-in-chief for ACEP Now, ACEP’s monthly publication, and was editor-in-chief for Emergency Physicians Monthly. He has received the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association (EMRA) Robert Dougherty ACEP/EMF Teaching Fellowship as well as the ACEP National Faculty Teaching Award. In 2014, Dr. Klauer was the recipient of the American College of Emergency Physicians Honorable Mention Outstanding Speaker of the Year Award and was recognized by the Ohio Chapter of ACEP with the Bill Hall Award for service. Dr. Klauer earned his DO degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also holds an Executive JD, with honors, from Concord Law School.

  Dr. Meyer went to dental school at Ohio State University (OSU), and he completed his residency in pediatric dentistry and a Masters of Public Health in Health Policy and Management at the University of North Carolina (UNC). Following residency, he joined the faculty at UNC where he conducted oral health services research, specifically the use of fluoride varnish in medical settings. He is currently an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at OSU with a joint appointment at the OSU College of Public Health, Division of Health Services Management and Policy, as well as a Medical Staff appointment at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He conducts and mentors research exploring relationships between fluoride varnish applied in medical settings and subsequent dental utilization.   Leeann R. Pavlek MD, MSc is an attending Neonatologist at Nationwide Children's Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital prior to joining the faculty. She is a principal investigator in the Center for Perinatal Research at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute and her research focuses on heart development in preterm infants and the impact of maternal factors on clinical outcomes and cardiac performance in the neonate. Her primary clinical interest is management of the extremely preterm infant and improving outcomes for neonates born at the limits of viability. She is highly involved with the multidisciplinary clinical team focused on caring for the extremely preterm infant and family, as well as developing new clinical guidelines specific for care of patients born at 22-23 weeks gestation.

  Alexander Rodriguez Betancourt is a certified prosthetist orthotist and the manager of the Pediatric Orthotics and Prosthetics Services department at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Erie, Pennsylvania. At Shriners he specializes in pediatric orthopedic services including upper and lower extremity prosthetics and orthotics, scoliosis bracing, and cranial remolding orthoses. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors in Rehabilitation Science and Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics. He earned his MBA in Healthcare Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Betancourt serves on the University of Pittsburgh Prosthetics and Orthotics Advisory Board as a clinical and residency mentor for prosthetics and orthotics students. He is the recipient of the University of Pittsburgh SHRS Rising Star Award 2020. Betancourt is actively involved in volunteer work though Project Perfect World, an organization providing health care to children in Guayaquil, Ecuador for which he also sits on the Medical Advisory Board.

  I am the daughter of two immigrant parents. Growing up in a predominantly white town was difficult trying to navigate between two worlds. I've been bullied since the age of 5 for being Hispanic, I never fit in with the social norm of the town. I was made fun of for my clothing too, my skin color, anything that was different from the white kids I was an easy target. This is the case for many kids in America. I didn't realize how much this affected me mentally, emotionally, and physically. I would starve myself thinking I would lose weight and be like the skinny girls in school. I would hate everything that made me different that soon led me into a depression. I hated my life and couldn't escape the negativity, there was no one for me or anyone in my similar situation to turn to. We all felt stuck, and even within our culture asking for help made us look weak. I want to shed light on a topic many people don't know much about.

Currently she is the chair for the Committee for State Government Affairs. She has lectured throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.   Dr. Mark L. Wolraich is the Shaun Walters Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics and the Edith Kinney-Gaylord Presidential Professor at the University Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He was the Chief of the Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics there for the past 17 years until June 2018. He received his M.D. from SUNY Upstate Medical Center. Previously to Oklahoma, he was at the University of Iowa for 14 years and Vanderbilt University for 11 years. Dr. Wolraich has been active nationally in the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) particularly relating to ADHD. He is a member and past president of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatric. He was inducted into the Children and Adults with ADHD (CHADD) Hall of Fame, received the C. Anderson Aldrich Award from the AAP and the Lee Salk Distinguish Service Award from the APA Society of Pediatric Psychology. Dr. Wolraich has authored over 110 journal articles and 50 chapters and has authored or edited 24 book. His journal articles have included ones in the New England Journal of Medicine, Pediatrics and the Journal of the American Medical Association. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and Mental Health, Maternal and Child Health Research Program, National Institute on Disabilities and Rehabilitation Research the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation. He participated on the AAP committee that developed the clinical guidelines for ADHD in 2001, chaired the committee that revised the guidelines in 2011 and 2019. He developed the Vanderbilt ADHD Behavior Rating Scales that are now used widely both nationally and internationally.
