ACOP 2020 Virtual Conference
November 7 - December 6, 2020

Welcome

Welcome to the first ever ACOP Virtual Conference!

Challenge, change, adaptivity, and revelation have marked the year 2020.  COVID, politics, violence and racism dominate the headlines.  We have all had to learn to be flexible with work, school, and socializing. Many of us have started using technology we had previously resisted.   Children are facing the same difficulties that we as adults are, and their lives have been radically changed.  “Pivot” has become the word of the year.

In keeping with 2020’s headlines, the ACOP has planned two weekends of topical lectures from speakers who have “been there, done that.”  We will learn from front line physicians who will discuss neonatal care and the multisystem inflammatory syndrome caused by COVID.  Together, we will hear about addressing gun violence and racism with our children. We will become more comfortable with conversations with our patients and their families about vaping, contraception, and nutrition-preventative concerns.  There are updates on perinatal cardiology and congenital heart disease as well as allergy/immunology topics. We will learn more about chronic pain management for kids. And we will cover mental health during the time of COVID and learn about alternatives to play therapy.

Lectures will be livestreamed to your computer, laptop, tablet, or phone.  Each session will feature a live panel discussion where speakers will answer your questions submitted through the Ask the Speaker feature of our new Mobile Meeting Guide.  A moderator will help make sure your questions are sent to the correct presenter either during our set Q & A panel or following the conference.

Thank you for joining us in this new world of socially distant, socially responsible conferences.  Please stay healthy, stay safe, and enjoy the educational weekends that the ACOP CME Committee has prepared for you.
