CANCELLED - ACOP 2020 Spring Conference

On behalf of the ACOP Board of Directors, we regret to inform you of our difficult, but necessary decision to cancel the ACOP 2020 Spring Conference, April 30-May 3, 2020, at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO.

The decision to cancel was deferred as long as possible with the hope that this outcome could be avoided.  The ongoing spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a serious concern for us all.  In light of recent recommendations from the CDC and a state of emergency declared by multiple states and cities, including Colorado and Colorado Springs, it is impossible to proceed as planned. We are also aware of many institutional travel bans and the health and safety of the ACOP community and our patients is our highest priority.

All who were registered for the 2020 Spring Conference will receive full refunds. Your registration will be cancelled automatically, and you will be refunded the associated registration fees. You do not have to notify us.  Please allow up to 45 days for your refund to be processed and appear on your statement. If you paid by check, we will issue a refund check.

If you have booked a hotel room at The Broadmoor, please contact them directly at 855-634-7711 to cancel your reservation.

As a reminder, ACOP does not reimburse airfare or other costs, but many airlines are offering liberal cancellation policies.

We also recognize that many submitted abstracts were to be considered for poster presentation at the conference.  ACOP leaders are looking at options for digital dissemination of the posters. We will provide more information soon.

The ACOP Board of Trustees extends a special thank you to the ACOP CME Committee and program chair Dr. David King for their work planning the conference program.  The CME Committee will meet soon to finalize the pediatric program for OMED 2020 in Austin, Texas, October 16-19, 2020. We are also looking for additional options to provide CME content for our members.

We appreciate your patience and support during this difficult situation and wish you all good health.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline M. Kaari, DO, FACOP
President
